TheTasteofAlabama

Hello!  Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!  Since both of the Taste of Alabama contributors are based in Birmingham, we show case a lot of Birmingham restaurants, well today it’s all about highlighting Tuscaloosa.  A few weeks ago Parker over at Fast Foodie spent a day trying out different restaurants in and around the Tuscaloosa area.

First up was City Café, in Historic Downtown Northport.  What makes City Café unique is that they offer a different menu everyday, and that menu offers yummy home cooking comfort foods.

The menu for that day had mac n cheese, fried orka, friend chicken breast, and peach cobbler (not pictured).  All that yummy food was only $7!

The next stop was for some delicious dessert at Mary’s Cakes and Pastries.  Also located in Northport.

They offer different kinds of cakes and pastries, including “cake shots”.  Plus after you have a little dessert you can go shop for kitchen goods at the attached consignment shop.

For the final stop on this day was at Kozy’s Fine Dining, located in Tuscaloosa.  Kozy’s has an interesting history, that began as just three menu options and grew into the fine dining establishment you can visit today.  They offer cocktails to pair with various menu items, like scallops.

We’d love to see more food from the great state of Alabama, send us your foodie posts!
