ALWB {Travel Tuesday}

Last year I shared 4 haunted cities in the South. This year I decided to talk about places right here in our very own state that are super spooky! Here are 5 locations here in Alabama that could have you shivering with fear!

Kate Shepard House Bed and Breakfast
Mobile, AL

It has been said that this historic B&B is haunted by an elderly woman who traverses from room to room.

Auburn University Chapel
Auburn, AL

The Auburn University Chapel once was a Civil War Hospital. Sydney, a Confederate soldier, died there and now his spirit becomes alive as he drifts through this historic building.

Gaineswood Plantation
Demopolis, AL

While visiting the Gaineswood Plantation, you may hear piano playing from the angry spirit of a visitor who died while staying there and was never returned to her home after her passing. Not what they did with a body is a mystery to me!

Sloss Furnaces
Birmingham, AL
Travel Tuesday - 5 Alabama's Haunted Places
Sloss Furnaces have been rumored as the most haunted place in Alabama. The 60 folks that died there have been known to drift through making their presents known.

Maple Hill Cemetery
Huntsville, Alabama

This cemetery that was put in place in 1822 is known as the “Dead Children’s Playground.” Orbs of light and children’s voices in the middle of the night in a cemetery would be enough to scare me away!

**After this post went live, I noticed a post by one of our own about this very subject. Check out Kat’s post —> Haunted in Alabama

Thanks for the mention! I love scary stuff especially the ones we can visit right here in Alabama! I had no idea about the Auburn Chapel. I will have to check that out.
