Lineage: My Grandparents are from Tennessee and Georgia, My Father grew up in Georgia and later moved to South Alabama, My mother was born and raised in Pensacola, FL. We are of English, Scottish, and American Indian decent. I want to get one of the DNA test that tells what all runs through your blood, I think it would be cool to know exactly where you came from.
Educated: I began my education with life itself. I got married young and had children young. I continued my actual education to become a Paralegal, doing 2 out of 4 years of schooling, then changed to Criminal Justice. Only completely 2 out 4 years of that, before decided that this isn’t what is right for my family and I. I am now completing my certification for Medical Transcription
Hubs: My high school sweetheart! We have been together for 12 years, and married for 9. He is a Superintendent for a major commercial construction company. He works so hard for us that allows me to be a stay home mom if that is what I want to do. My life wouldn’t be the same without this man supporting and allowing me to have my dreams.
Responsible for: I am responsible for being mother to a little prince well he’s going on a pre-teen prince, a little princess, and Wife to Mr. Scott. I keep our house hold running smoothly and make sure that everyone is taking care of and has what they need.
Day job: I’m a Domestic Goddess {Stay at home Wife and Mom} I own and solely run Raised Southern and Raised Southern Boutique.
Blog(s): I started blogging in 2009 as Southern Mom and Wife and in 2012 changed our name to Raised Southern to brand and  further my blog and start my boutique business. I also have Bibbidi Bobbidi Dreams – A Disney Vacation planning Site that will be up and running in May 2014.
Other passions: DIY/Crafts, The Beach, Fishing, Tubing, Traveling, Painting, Writing, Cooking, Baking, Home improvement, Gardening, and much much more.
Favorite author/books: My favorite Author is Nicholas Sparks, I could read his books over and over. I don’t have much time to read but when I do generally it is one of his books. I also like Harlen Coben. I generally buy books that are informative or catch my interest.
Favorite blogs: The blog that inspired me and sparked my interest is Moscato Mom, the owner is a friend of mine and she’s very inspirational with all of her success. I love Scarry Mommy  and her honesty, even if it is the brutal truth.
Dream vacation: Anywhere. I absolutely love to travel. I would love to go over seas and tour all the sights, however I do not like flying and could not see my self going over seas. I want to buy a RV and tour  the US and see all the amazing sights. We also love Disney World, so I would love to take a month {yes I said a month, and could spend much longer there then just a month} and go to Disneyland and a Disney Cruise with my children.

lyshaI was born and raised in Richland Hills, suburb just outside of Fort Worth, TX. After attending Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX for 2 years, I transferred to Auburn to be closer to my boyfriend at the time, who is now my husband. I’ve lived in Auburn, AL since 1996 and have been married to Rob since 1997. I graduated from Auburn in 1999 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. I went on to teach for 9 years, before exploring other avenues, which landed me back at Auburn University where I get to hang out with college students and shuffle books. My husband, Rob, works on campus as well, but way on the other side in Facilities Management in their System Department. We have two sons. Our older son (19) is a sophomore at Auburn University majoring in Marketing. He is a member of the Auburn University Marching Band and sings bass for AU Capella. Our younger son (13) still manages to keep us busy with soccer, Scouts, band, and church activities. I blog at Magnolia Mom A Camera & A Cookbook, where I share stories of things I love like my family, traveling, photography, and new recipes.
